The 2017- 2018 whale watching season begins in the Chañaral Island, the Atacama Region of Chile, which is the main reason to celebrate along the community of Chañaral de Aceituno, spending a day out in nature and holding the arrival of these huge mammals.

Every year, whales migrate thousands of miles from tropical places, in which mating occurs, to the cold seas of South America or the Artic. The purpose of this journey is the search of seas rich in food.

If you want to find the biggest cetaceans living around, travel to the Reserva Nacional Pingüino de Humboldt, one of the marine parks with greater diversity regarding to northern species of Chile. An astonishing encounter, in which you will be able to witness a large variety of marine fauna and species like: the fin whale, the humpback whale and the blue whale.

Join us and come to visit one the places with higher diversity of Chile, an unforgettable tour along great cetaceans, endemic birds, foxes and extreme landscapes.

08:00 Leaving from La Serena, heading towards the north by Ruta 5.

10:30 Navigation and observation of birds, marine mammals and whale watching.

14:00 Lunch in a local restaurant (vegetarian option)

15:00:Tour to Playa El Apolillado and a walk along the coast (observation of flora and fauna)

16:30 Visit a local store, which produces and sells olive oil and olives. Return to La Serena.

18:00 End of the tour.
